Chatsworth, the magnificent home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, is set in the heart of the beautiful Peak District National Park. There are 30 spectacular rooms – including the Painted Hall and the regal State Rooms – to explore in the main house, and a 105-acre garden famous for its water features, sculptures and maze.

The house has passed down through 16 generations of the Cavendish family and is open for you to explore its rooms and grounds. One of Europe’s premier art collections – the Devonshire Collection – is housed at Chatsworth, containing works of art that span 4,000 years – from Ancient Rome and Egyptian sculpture, to masterpieces by Rembrandt, Reynolds and Veronese. The 105-acre garden is a product of nearly 500 years of cultivation, with many early features such as the Canal Pond, Cascade and 1st Duke’s Greenhouse. There are miles of paths for you to wander in the magnificent garden. Once you have explored Chatsworth and the garden, you can continue on to the idyllic market town of Bakewell, situated on the River Wye just a short bus ride away, and visit the Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop to sample their world famous pudding.
