Enjoy a day trip to Chester Zoo, one of the UK’s most popular visitor attractions, with around 1.6 million visitors every year. Across the 125-acre site there are 20,000 wild and wonderful animals from 500 exotic and endangered species. The animal exhibits include the Realm of the Red Ape and the Tsavo Black Rhino reserve. There’s also the impressive Asian elephant house and the Fruit Bat Forest.
Your tour itinerary
Meet our representative at Manchester Piccadilly railway station and receive your tickets and travel pack. Enjoy a relaxing train journey through the Cheshire countryside. Arrive in Chester and take the X8 bus from the railway station for the short journey to the zoo entrance. Then you have a choice. Spend the whole day exploring all that the zoo has to offer, or travel back into the city centre during the afternoon. Here you can take a walk on the Roman Walls or visit the 900-year-old cathedral. Or you might like to enjoy a little shopping in ‘The Rows’, the 700-year-old, two-tiered shopping galleries.

Timings and prices
Tour operates Monday to Saturday, departing from Manchester Piccadilly station at 8.50am. The journey time to Chester is 1 hour, and 15 minutes from Chester Station to Chester Zoo .
