Day Trip to Liverpool, ‘The Beatles Story’ and River Cruise
Enjoy a day trip to Liverpool, a city with a unique culture and heritage. It’s also a city with a reputation; a reputation for music, comedy, football and, at the heart of all of this, its people.
Liverpool also has an impressive cultural heritage. Did you know for example that it has more listed buildings than any other city outside London. Guide books regularly remind us that Liverpool’s galleries and museums are among the best in the country.
Did we mention the music? The Beatles can lay claim to a large part of Liverpool’s worldwide fame. From the Cavern Club in Mathew Street, to the larger than life statue of the ‘Fab Four’ down by the ferry terminal, the four Liverpudlian lads continue to exert a major influence, attracting many thousands of visitors, all keen to visit ‘their’ city.
Liverpool’s history underpins all of this. Facing the River Mersey, the redeveloped waterfront, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to the historic Albert Dock, a popular leisure destination with shops, bars and restaurants. And in case you were wondering if Albert Dock and music combine, well, of course they do. Among the music venues you’ll find ‘The Beatles Story’, a fascinating attraction that tells the story through recreations, photos and many, many memories.
For many people, Liverpool means something else. The famous River Mersey provides not only the home to the ‘Ferry ‘cross the Mersey’, but it also offers a view of Liverpool’s spectacular waterfront.
Add two magnificent cathedrals and a host of other attractions, and you have all the ingredients for a great day out.
