Day Trip to Medieval York and River Cruise
Includes entry to many popular York attractions!
Enjoy a day trip to York by train. This historic, walled city is famous for its tangle of quaint cobbled streets, and York Minster, the world-famous 13th century Gothic cathedral.
Take a guided tour or explore the Minster on your own. If you’re feeling fit, you can climb the 275 steps of the narrow staircase to the top of the medieval Central Tower. At the top you pass the pinnacles and gothic gargoyles before stepping out into the open air to experience the best panoramic views of York, including the hidden alleyways, medieval lanes and the surrounding Yorkshire countryside. The Undercroft, not to be confused with the Crypt, is the location for an immersive and interactive journey where visitors can see, touch and hear 2,000 years of history.
Don’t miss ‘The Shambles’, a general term for the maze of twisting, narrow lanes which make York so charming. At the heart is the narrow street called ‘Shambles’, one of the best preserved and most intact medieval streets in the world, and one of York’s most famous attractions.
With a wealth of visitor attractions, York offers everything you need for a memorable day out.
